FAQ
Choosing skincare for you and your little ones is a big deal. Here’s everything you might want to know about our ingredients, balms, and how we care for your skin—naturally.
What is tallow, and why do you use it?
Tallow is a nutrient-dense fat rendered from the suet of grass-fed, pasture-raised Australian cattle. Its unique fatty acid profile is nearly identical to that of human skin, allowing it to penetrate deeply into the skin’s layers—far more effectively than many plant-based oils. This means it doesn’t just sit on the surface—it nourishes, repairs, and restores at a cellular level.
At Loved by Leli, we render and purify our tallow a minimum of eight times, right here on our family farm in Wallanbah, NSW. It’s completely free from hormones, fillers, and synthetic chemicals—just pure, ancestral skincare at its best. Rich in skin-loving vitamins A, D, E & K, tallow has been trusted for generations to protect and heal even the most delicate skin.
Is your tallow ethically sourced?
Yes—and not only that, it’s raised and rendered right here on our farm. We use tallow from our own grass-fed and finished cattle, raised on regenerative pasture with no hormones or unnecessary treatments. Every batch is part of a closed-loop, intentional process that respects the land, the animal, and your skin. It’s ethical, sustainable, and completely traceable—from paddock to jar.
Is your balm suitable for sensitive or reactive skin?
Absolutely. Every Loved by Leli balm is free from essential oils, synthetic fragrance, and known irritants. We use organic, minimal ingredients that are safe for the most sensitive skin—including newborns and postpartum mums.
Can I use your balms on my baby?
Yes. Our Golden Guard (bottom balm) and Golden Grail (healing balm) are specifically formulated for babies and children. They’re infused with calming herbs like calendula and marshmallow root, and contain no essential oils or nasties—just clean, skin-safe nourishment. Always patch test before first use.
How are Loved by Leli balms different from other natural skincare?
We keep it real, minimal, and mama-made. Our balms are handcrafted in small batches on our farm in rural NSW using only a handful of high-performing, organic ingredients. We don’t use fillers, synthetics, or shortcuts—just pure, ancestral care rooted in nature.
Which balm is right for me?
- Golden Glow – Sweet Bloom: A whipped facial and body balm infused with rose and vanilla—perfect for daily hydration and soft, glowing skin.
- Golden Glow – Honey Restore: A richer, reparative balm with honey and olive oil—ideal for deep hydration, barrier support, and tired or mature skin.
- Golden Grail: Herbal-infused all-purpose balm for dry patches, skin repair, and gentle family use.
- Golden Guard: Creamy zinc-based nappy balm for baby bottoms, dribble rash, and protective daily care.
Can I use your products if I have eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis?
Yes. Many of our customers use Golden Grail and Golden Guard to help soothe inflammation and repair the skin barrier. These balms are infused with skin-loving herbs and pure tallow to calm irritation and support healing naturally.
Are your balms safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?
Yes, all of our balms are made with pregnancy- and breastfeeding-safe ingredients. If you prefer an unscented option, Golden Grail is an excellent choice. As always, we recommend patch testing before use—especially during these sensitive stages.
Can I use your balms on both face and body?
Absolutely! Our balms are multi-purpose. Golden Glow Sweet Bloom is light enough for daily facial use, while Golden Grail and Golden Glow Honey Restore work beautifully on the body, hands, or anywhere needing extra care.
How long will one jar last?
A little goes a long way. Our balms are waterless and concentrated, so a 100g jar typically lasts 2–3 months with regular use.
Are your products cruelty-free?
Yes. We never test on animals—only on our own skin and that of willing mamas, babes, and loved ones.
Is your packaging eco-friendly?
We use recyclable glass jars and eco-friendly labels. We’re committed to low-waste packaging that supports a more conscious lifestyle. Wherever possible, our materials are biodegradable or reusable.
Where are your balms made?
All products are lovingly handcrafted on our family farm in Wallanbah, NSW. From rendering the tallow to infusing each botanical—we do it all with intention, love and care.
How should I store my balm?
Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Because we use pure, natural ingredients, your balm may soften or firm slightly with the seasons—this is completely normal and doesn’t affect quality. We recommend using it within 6 months of opening for best results.
Always use clean fingers and patch test before first use.
